No Hooks Needed to Watch
Monitoring reads each tool's own session files — install nothing to see live status. A one-time hook install (Settings → Claude Code) is only required to enable approve-from-notch.
It Never Decides For You
FavTray never auto-approves. If you don't answer, the request falls back to the terminal prompt after a timeout — the agent is never silently blocked or silently allowed.
100% Local
Sessions are read on your Mac and approvals travel over a local unix socket. Nothing about your agents, your prompts, or your code ever leaves the machine.

The session finished its turn and is waiting for your next instruction. Nothing needs your attention.
How a permission request reaches you
Claude Code raises a permission request whenever it wants to run a Bash command or edit a file. Instead of that request sitting in a terminal you're not watching, FavTray surfaces it in the island — and your decision flows straight back to the agent.
The request shows inline in the Agents page with the command or file it wants to touch, plus Allow and Deny.
If the island is collapsed, the same Allow/Deny arrives as a compact HUD nudge under the camera.
Your choice travels back to Claude Code over a local unix socket. Nothing is ever auto-approved for you.
Ignore it and it falls back to the normal terminal prompt after a timeout — the agent is never silently blocked.

Is Agent Sessions free?
No — it's a Pro feature that rides FavShelf and unlocks on any paid plan (₹49/month or ₹999 once for Lifetime). Free installs still see the session glance in the island; live approvals and the full session board unlock with a paid plan.
Does it support Codex and Gemini too?
Codex sessions are shown on the board — repo, branch, status, and elapsed — but approvals are Claude Code only for now, because Codex doesn't expose a hook API for permission requests. Gemini isn't wired up yet. Claude Code gets the full approve-and-deny flow.
Where do I answer a question from an agent?
In the terminal. FavTray announces AskUserQuestion prompts in the island with their numbered options so you don't miss them, but you type your choice in the terminal where the session is running. Permission requests (Allow/Deny) are the part you can act on directly from the notch.
Do I have to install hooks?
Not to monitor. Watching live sessions reads each tool's own session files and needs no setup. Approving from the notch does need a one-time hook install for Claude Code, which you do from Settings → Claude Code. It's a single step and fully reversible.
What happens if I don't respond to a request?
Nothing gets auto-approved. FavTray never makes the decision for you — if you don't answer in the island, the request falls back to the normal terminal prompt after a timeout, exactly as it would without FavTray.
Does any of this touch the cloud?
No. Session status is read locally from files already on your Mac, and Allow/Deny decisions travel back to the agent over a local unix socket. There's no account, no sync, and no telemetry — your prompts and code never leave your machine.
Does it work on Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes. FavTray runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and Intel Macs, and requires macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later. On notch Macs the sessions live in the island; on non-notch Macs FavShelf renders as a floating bar with the same features.
