Water, on the edge
of your screen.
A tank lives on the side of your Mac — today's water as a level you can read from across the room. Hover, and it opens: waves, a pace line for the hour, three buttons, and water you can drag up or down. When it's time, the notch asks. When you hit the goal, the notch floods.
Live recreation. Click the glyph on the edge; log a glass; watch the pace line.
Asks, then cheers
The reminder is a small orange card under the camera with two buttons. The reward is the island itself becoming water — for four seconds, then gone. Click a moment to play it.
One object, one number, one click
A tank on the edge of your screen
A thin glyph on the left edge shows today's water as a level. Hover and it opens into a tank: real waves, a dashed pace line for the hour, and three buttons — glass, cup, bottle. Drag the water up to pour more in, down to pour some out.
Nudges that are asks, not alarms
Every 90 minutes inside office hours the notch says “Time for water” — orange, a drop, the day's bar, and two buttons: log a glass or wait 15 minutes. Dropped during meetings and screen shares, never queued.
Cheers when it counts
Hit the goal and the island floods: water surges in, glasses clink, bubbles rise. Every glass past it earns a different trophy. Seven, fourteen, thirty days running light a row of candles across the notch.
Pace, not guilt
The tank shows where today should be by this hour of your office day. Teal when you're on pace, orange when a glass behind — colour is the only alarm, and there's no daily cap or scolding.
Twelve weeks at a glance
A GitHub-style grid of the last 12 weeks — one square a day, deeper teal for more water — plus your streak, best window of the day, and an hourly histogram of when you actually drink.
Your sizes, your goal
Glass, cup and bottle sizes are yours to set; so is the goal. Corrections are just negative entries, so undo is always one click and the log stays honest.
Questions
Where does Hydrate live?
On a side dock — a thin panel on the left or right edge of the screen (your choice, left by default). Collapsed it's a 28-point glyph showing today's level; hover to open the tank. The notch carries the moments: asks, goal, streaks.
How often does it remind me?
Every 90 minutes by default, only inside your office hours (shared with Reminders and Eye Rest, 9–18 by default). Logging a glass shifts the next reminder; reaching the goal stops them for the day. Reminders are dropped — not queued — during meetings and screen shares.
Can I log odd amounts?
Yes. Three quick sizes (glass, cup, bottle — all configurable), then drag the water surface in the tank: 10 ml per point, in 25 ml steps, up to add or down to pour out.
What counts as a streak day?
Eighty percent of your goal. Today counts once it qualifies, so an in-progress day never breaks a streak.
Is the history Pro?
Reminders and logging are free. The 12-week grid, streaks, best window and hourly histogram are Pro — included with every paid plan alongside the other tools.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. Water logs live in a local JSON store on your Mac, 90 days deep. Nothing leaves the machine.
Two thousand millilitres. Done.
Reminders and logging are free on every install. The 12-week grid and streaks come with any paid plan — $4.99/month, or $49 once for Lifetime.
