Privacy Policy

FavTray is built by Akash Rajagopal ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. The short version: your data stays on your Mac, we don't sell anything, and we collect as little as possible.
What the App Collects
FavTray runs entirely on your Mac. All app data — eye rest statistics, AI usage costs, break history, window layouts, and settings — is stored locally using SwiftData and UserDefaults. None of this data is sent to any server.
The app reads files in your ~/.claude/ directory to display AI usage data. This data is read locally and never transmitted.
AWS and GCP credentials entered in the app are held in memory only — they are never written to disk and are cleared when the app quits.
License Validation
If you purchase a license, the app periodically contacts our licensing API to validate your license. This sends:
- Your license key
- A device identifier (hardware UUID)
- Your machine name
- App version
This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and used solely for license management. We do not use it for tracking or profiling.
What the Website Collects
Email address: If you join our waitlist, we store your email address in Google Cloud Firestore. We use it only to notify you about FavTray's launch and updates.
Payment data: Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your credit card number.
Cookies & Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (page views, referrers, device type). GA4 sets two cookies:

Analytics only loads after you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. IP addresses are anonymized.
You can change your preference anytime by clearing localStorage in your browser. We do not use any other tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
No telemetry. Neither the website nor the app phones home, reports crashes, or tracks usage patterns.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with anyone. Period. This applies to your email address, license data, and any other information.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate FavTray:
- Google Analytics — website analytics, consent-based (privacy policy)
- Razorpay — payment processing (privacy policy)
- Google Cloud — licensing API and waitlist email storage (privacy notice)
- Firebase Hosting — website hosting (privacy policy)
- Cloudflare — DNS and email routing (privacy policy)
Data Retention
- Waitlist emails: Kept until our launch campaign is complete, then deleted unless you become a customer.
- License data: Kept while your subscription is active. Deleted upon request after cancellation.
- App data: Stored locally on your Mac. Deleted when you uninstall the app.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — ask us what we have
- Delete your data — we'll remove your email and/or license records
- Correct your data — update your email or license info
- Export your data — receive a copy of what we store
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time
These rights apply regardless of where you live (GDPR, CCPA, India DPDP Act, or otherwise). Email hello@favtray.com for any request — we'll respond within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
FavTray is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
International Transfers
Our licensing API and email storage run on Google Cloud. Data may be processed in the United States or other regions where Google operates. Razorpay processes payments in India.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of FavTray after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
