What's new in FavTray

Clipboard: a history that sorts itself and stays on your Mac, with Safe Paste for AI chats. Screenshot copies, translates and redacts text, and Inspect checks colours and spacing.

• New Clipboard: a history of what you copy, sorted on your Mac into Links, Code, Data, Dev, Contacts, Money, IDs, Text and Images & files, with search and pins. It's off until you turn it on, stored encrypted on this Mac, and never synced or sent to an AI.
• New Clipboard keeps secrets out: copies from password-manager apps and copies an app marks private aren't kept, and passwords, codes and tokens FavTray recognises are hidden and forgotten after 10 minutes.
• New Quick paste: a keyboard panel that pastes into the app you were in. It has no shortcut until you set one; one click sets ⇧⌘V.
• New Safe Paste: before you paste into an AI chat, keys, tokens, emails, card numbers and other personal data become placeholders like [API_KEY_1], with a preview. Restore puts the real values back into the answer. Also Paste as rich text, Copy as Markdown, Clean AI text, and Base64, URL, timestamp, JSON and JWT transforms.
• New Clipboard on Free keeps 24 hours of history, 5 pins and 10 pastes into apps a day; copying back is never limited. Pro keeps history from 1 day to forever (30 days by default), with unlimited pins and pastes. A lapsed licence deletes nothing.
• New Screenshot: Copy text from any area with on-device text recognition (⇧⌘C in the toolbar), then Translate it on macOS 15 and later.
• New Screenshot: Blur and Pixelate tools, and Find secrets, which covers keys, tokens, NAME=value lines and emails with solid boxes before you copy or save.
• New Screenshot: Inspect mode picks a colour as HEX, RGB, HSL, OKLCH, SwiftUI or Tailwind, checks contrast (WCAG and APCA) and measures gaps. Pin a capture on top of your windows; Overlay is Pro.
• New Screenshot: Copy for AI puts a capture sized for AI chats on the clipboard as an image, a file and its quoted path, for chat apps, Finder and coding agents in a terminal.
• New Ports: a QR code opens a dev server on your phone when it's reachable on the same Wi-Fi.
• New System: quit a heavy process from its row. FavTray never quits macOS's own processes or another user's; on Free, quits share Ports' 10 a day.
• New Team clocks in Meetings and the cockpit, with each clock's time and working hours, and Copy my free slots. The notch's Time tab gets a Calendar/Team switch.
• Improved Notes: fold sections and toggles, search a page (⌘F), code blocks in 30 languages, Markdown pasted in becomes blocks, a Markdown view, Copy as Markdown, and checklist actions such as Move Checked to Bottom.

• Fixed The Settings page no longer freezes for 1 to 5 seconds at a time.

• Improved FavTray no longer keeps a disk cache of its web requests or stores cookies, and deletes what earlier versions stored the first time it runs.
• Improved Clipboard history is off until you turn it on, and product news is off until you turn it on in Settings › General.
• Improved Only one FavTray runs at a time, and FavTray uses less energy while your Mac is idle, locked or asleep.
• Improved Better VoiceOver labels, keyboard navigation, contrast, Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency support.
• Improved Keep Alive doesn't start when your organisation sets the screen-lock idle time on this Mac.
• New Settings › General › Export Diagnostics… puts FavTray's logs and the crash and hang reports macOS keeps for it in one zip, to attach to a bug report.
• New Agent Sessions: message a session started by Agent Orchestrator from the notch island. FavTray runs `ao send` on your Mac; any other session says so and sends nothing.

A reliability release: fixes across every tool.

• Fixed Per-app volume no longer crashes FavTray when a device changes mid-adjustment, and the audio monitor no longer freezes the app during bursts of sound.
• Fixed Port Kill asks before stopping coding agents, MCP servers and browsers, and never acts on a stale process.
• Fixed Claude Code approvals on the notch stay put while you hover them, and Claude Code hooks stay quiet when FavTray isn't running.
• Fixed Projects no longer copies one item's fields onto the next when you move through the drawer, and Reminders can't lose your list to an unreadable entry.

A faster AI Usage daily log.

• Fixed AI Usage: the Daily log opens instantly without redrawing the page. It shows the latest 14 days with Show all 30 days, and a Copy table button copies the whole range.

Switch Claude Code and Codex accounts in one click, one-click updates, and a faster AI Usage.

• New Account switching (Pro): save each Claude Code or Codex account once, then switch from the account chip in AI Usage. No /login every time. Open Claude Code sessions follow within about 30 seconds; Codex sessions need a restart. Near 90% of a limit, FavTray suggests the account with the most room. Your logins stay on this Mac, and FavTray never signs in or renews a login for you.
• New An update chip beside the version: click it to download, install and restart in one step.
• Improved AI Usage opens instantly, even with a very large history. Spend and tokens fill in with a progress bar, and later opens only read what's new.
• Improved Artifacts: drag table columns to resize them, and resize or hide the project sidebar.
• Fixed Your licence no longer looks lost after a restart. If macOS can't read it yet, FavTray stays Pro and retries, and you can restore it by email.
• Fixed Cockpit layout: This Mac no longer slides under its neighbours, and the AI spend chart, Dev servers, Local work and Disk cards are tidied up.

Check for Updates you can rely on, fewer password prompts, and product news.

• Improved Check for Updates is back in the right-click menu. Every check now answers: up to date, the new version, or an error with Try Again, and it no longer needs a restart to see an update.
• Fixed After updating, FavTray no longer asks for your keychain password several times in a row. Older saved items are moved over once, and later updates don't ask.
• New Product news: an occasional notification about new features, shown at most twice. Turn it off in Settings › General.
• Fixed A newer update replaces one that was already downloaded and waiting to install.

Artifacts get projects, real previews and version history.

• New Artifacts: group them into projects in a sidebar, each with its own icon. Drag a card onto a project to move it, or group the whole gallery by project.
• New Artifacts: every card shows a real preview of its charts and tables.
• New Artifacts: a History timeline keeps up to 30 earlier versions of each artifact. Hover to preview one, open it read-only, and restore it; a restore can itself be undone.
• Improved The FavTray Skill can put an artifact into a project, and updates keep the project you chose.

Artifacts, per-app volume, a rebuilt System and Space, and a permission guide that shows you exactly where to click.

• New Artifacts: native dashboards and reports with tables, charts and stat cards, each from one JSON file on your Mac. The FavTray Skill builds and updates them for you. Free keeps up to 2 artifacts; Pro is unlimited.
• New Per-app volume (Pro, macOS 14.2+): set each app from 0 to 150% or mute it, remembered per app. It needs the System Audio Recording permission; nothing is recorded or saved.
• New System gets new sections: GPU, Power & Battery, Thermal, Audio (switch devices, volume and mute), Bluetooth (battery levels, connect), Network, Displays, USB & Thunderbolt (with a slow-cable warning), Camera & Mic, Processes, and Alerts (Pro).
• Improved Space, rebuilt: the treemap comes first, then Worth a look, hand-offs to the app that owns the files, History, Scopes, Duplicates and Export. It is still read-only and never deletes a file. Free sees a teaser of your own disk.
• New A permission guide opens beside System Settings and shows you exactly where to click.
• Improved Reminders: specific dates, end dates, linked Notes pages and a compose-style editor.

Reminders get a compose-style editor, specific dates and end dates, plus linked Notes pages. The FavTray Skill (formerly boardsmith) is now part of paid Pro.

• New Reminders: a Specific dates repeat that fires on exactly the days you pick, and an Ends option (never, after N days, or on a date) for daily, weekday and custom repeats. Quick add understands "every day at 9pm for 2 days" and "on oct 2 and oct 9".
• New Link a Notes page to a reminder: the reminder and its full-screen alert get a button that opens the page.
• Improved The reminder editor is now a single compose card with a roomy description, day chips (Today, Tomorrow, the next weekdays), a larger calendar, preset times and typed times like 7:25pm or 730p.
• Improved Reminder notes show in the day panel with clickable links and file paths, and the detail panel can be resized.
• Improved The FavTray Skill for Claude Code and Codex (formerly boardsmith) installs and updates for paid Pro licences. It isn't part of the trial.
• Improved Notes Home shows only top-level pages, with a sub-page count on each card.
• Fixed Allowing calendar access in Meetings no longer looks stuck: the page shows its progress and loads your meetings as soon as macOS grants access.
• Fixed Clearing a day's reminder log also clears that day's count and colour, and a day with nothing done no longer shows a green tick.
• Fixed Copying code blocks from Projects and Notes pastes as plain text, without extra blank lines.

• New Developer cockpit: one click on the menu bar icon opens a wide popover with a Needs you now rail (an agent waiting, an AI limit at risk, red CI, a dev server down, a review waiting, a blocked PR, unpushed work, Mac or disk trouble) and eight live modules, each with its fix on the card.
• New A real Mac window: a sidebar of tools with a full screen for each, a Home card grid with a Dashboard and Chat switch, and Settings in the same window.
• New Projects: local project boards with Table, Board and Roadmap views, templates, a quick-capture hotkey and a daily due-date digest. Each board is a JSON file on your Mac.
• New Notes: nested pages with checklists, toggles, callouts, code, tables and columns, a "/" block menu and a width setting per page. Each page is a JSON file on your Mac.
• New GitHub Today dashboard: commits, branches, unpushed work, PRs, reviews waiting on you and CI on your pushes, per repo. The local half is a read-only git scanner with no token; the GitHub half is one batched query while it's on screen.
• New Cloud Costs, rebuilt: Google Cloud spend from your BigQuery billing export with a forecast, top SKUs, budgets and savings suggestions, plus opt-in AWS Cost Explorer.
• New Space: where your disk went, in Overview, Map, Cleanup and Big files views. It never deletes, moves or changes a file.
• New Flow AI: ask questions about your own FavTray data with your own AI provider or a local model in Ollama or LM Studio. It reads only the data areas you tick.
• Improved AI Usage: a screen per provider with pace and time to limit, 30 providers including Windsurf, Grok, CodeRabbit, Codebuff and API accounts for OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Moonshot and xAI, and Cursor read from its own login.
• Improved Ports and System: real logos for about 200 developer tools, one row per port, and a history page for any process from 1 hour to 30 days.
• Improved Reminders gets a month, week and day calendar of what fired, and the Side Dock gets a live preview you drag to reorder.
• Improved Free vs Pro: every tool flow now opens on Free with a daily limit that resets at midnight: 10 port kills, 10 AI Writer rewrites, 10 Flow AI asks, 10 screenshots, 20 snaps to thirds, 3 hours of Keep Alive and 4 full-screen meeting alerts. Free adds up to 2 notes, 2 project boards, 3 active reminders, 2 GitHub repos and 1 cloud account, and nothing you already set up is removed. Pro ($4.99 once) removes every limit, and the 7-day trial is unlimited.
• Improved AI Writer is open to every install, on your own AI provider. The invite list is gone.
• Improved Lighter on your Mac: background refresh every 15 minutes, live data only while you look at it, and a full AI cost scan now peaks at about 90 MB instead of 423 MB.
• Fixed A Lifetime license no longer expires after 30 days without an internet connection. Once activated, it keeps working offline.

Max finally shows up in downloaded builds — and he's now delivered securely: licensed installs download him once, encrypted, and he works offline from then on.

• Fixed Max didn't appear at all in 1.12.0 and 1.13.0 downloads — the app couldn't find his character file. He now appears for every paid licence.
• Fixed Max could disappear for the rest of the session after his first rest. He now always comes back.
• Improved Max is no longer bundled inside the app: paid licences download him once (about 10 MB), stored encrypted, and he works offline after that.

Max is much lighter on your Mac: while he rests, he becomes a still picture and the 3D engine shuts down — about 300 MB less memory and near-zero CPU. Plus FavTray is now a one-time $4.99 Lifetime license, and fewer keychain prompts.

• Improved Max rests as a still picture when he's tired, done for today, or you've been away for five minutes, freeing roughly 300 MB of memory and his ~5% CPU. Move the mouse (or click him if he's tired) and he's back.
• Improved FavTray asks for your Claude and Codex keychain access once per login instead of twice.
• Improved Pro is now a one-time $4.99 Lifetime license — no subscription.

FavTray is now signed with a Developer ID — no more Gatekeeper “damaged” warning on first launch. Plus Max, the desk buddy, is on by default for Pro and Lifetime, with a right-click menu and a smoother walk/run animation refresh.

• New Per-session chat from the island: click a session row, type, and send — talk to each Claude Code session without hunting for its terminal. Answer its questions straight from the notch. (Sending works for sessions started by Agent Orchestrator; other sessions are read-only.)
• New Always Allow and Bypass for tool permission requests, with a revocable list in Settings so you stay in control of what you've granted.
• New Sound cues: five audio cues for approvals, questions, and completions — silent by default. Volume control, per-cue custom audio import with preview, automatic muting during fullscreen, screen sharing, and Focus, and a speaker toggle right in the island.
• New Usage: token usage per project and per session, with 5-hour and 7-day rolling windows.
• Improved Each agent shows its own distinct identity mark, and the island has an explicit close button.
• Improved Clicking a session now opens the island on that session instead of guessing which terminal window you meant. The Go to Terminal button is gone.
• Improved A fresh coat of paint: coloured feature icons across the app, a coloured settings sidebar, hover animations on icons, and multi-coloured usage charts.
• Fixed Notification text no longer overlaps or clips, and no longer shows raw Markdown.

AI Writer gets a memory. Every result you generate is kept for 7 days so you can go back and copy something you clicked away from, re-running the same text now gives you a genuinely different take, and the panel finally stays put while it works.

• New Recent: the last 7 days of AI Writer results, with the text that produced them. Open it from the AI Writer panel or from the menu bar, copy anything back out, delete individual entries or clear the lot. Stored only on your Mac.
• New Two new tones — Professional and Polite — alongside Detailed, Concise, Formal, Casual and Witty.
• New Back button on a result: try a different action on the same selection without re-selecting the text.
• Improved Drag the AI Writer panel anywhere while it's working — it now keeps the spot you put it in instead of jumping back over your text when the result arrives.
• Improved Clicking outside no longer throws away a result or cancels a generation that's still running. Use Discard or Esc to close it.
• Fixed Re-running the same action on the same text kept returning word-for-word the same result. Each run now steers away from what it produced before, across sessions and restarts.
• Fixed The toolbar didn't reappear when you selected the same piece of text again.
• Fixed Fixed API call issues in AI Writer.

Agent Sessions puts Claude Code and Codex in your notch — approve or deny permission requests inline, without leaving your editor. Plus a pop-out Board window, List mode as the default popover layout, and a redesigned Settings.

• New Agent Sessions (Pro): every Claude Code and Codex session in one board inside the notch island — repo, branch, status, and elapsed time. Approve or deny Claude Code permission requests inline in the island or from a collapsed-island HUD nudge. 100% local — approvals travel over a local unix socket, nothing about your agents leaves your Mac.
• New Board pop-out: pop the Live Deck out of its menu-bar popover into a resizable window. Each tool becomes a live card with the history behind its number — AI-usage per-model split, a CPU/memory sparkline, GitHub PRs, meetings, and more.
• Improved Popover List mode is now the default layout: a dense, keyboard-navigable one-row-per-tool view. Toggle back to the tile grid with ⌘\.
• Improved Settings redesigned: dependent options only reveal once they're relevant, a live preview strip shows what you're about to turn on, and the sidebar groups your tools by state — running, idle, or needs setup.
• Fixed Claude Code no longer prompts you to log in over and over — FavTray now reads its CLI credentials read-only instead of touching them.
• Fixed The Preferences… menu item reliably opens Settings instead of occasionally crashing.
• Fixed An agent waiting on your answer no longer disappears from the Agents board after a few minutes, and the collapsed island's session count no longer counts sessions that have already ended.

Stability patch: a crash in the AI Usage charts when new AI models appear in your usage data, and a dead button in the Claude Code notch notifications.

• Fixed AI Usage breakdown chart no longer crashes when a brand-new model (any provider) shows up in your usage history — chart series and colors are now derived from the exact data being plotted, and malformed cost values are sanitized before charting.
• Fixed Claude Code notch notifications: the Go to Terminal / Answer button actually brings your terminal to the front (macOS activation rules silently blocked it). Warp Preview and Ghostty are now recognized too.

Claude Code lives in your notch — approve or deny its permission prompts, read its questions, and get completion alerts without leaving what you're doing. Plus AI Writer now works out of the box: no API key needed.

• New Claude Code in the notch (Pro): permission prompts appear as island notifications with one-tap Approve/Deny, questions show with their full options, and finished tasks announce themselves with the final message. Opt in from Settings → Claude Code; unanswered prompts safely fall back to the terminal.
• New AI Writer — AI included: every action now works with zero setup, no API key, no account. Power users can still point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint via environment variables.
• New AI Writer — Summarize, Explain, and Translate (8 languages) join the toolbar, with a Length control on Summarize/Explain for short, moderate, or in-depth output.
• New The notch island is now on by default for new installs — the free glance (media, weather, AI usage) greets you on first launch.
• Improved Lifetime is now ₹999 (was ₹2499) — every tool, every future feature, one payment.
• Fixed Island notifications with two actions are fully tappable, show what's being decided on a second line, and no longer delay the next queued notification.

• New AI Writer tones: generate in Default, Detailed, Concise, Formal, Casual, or Witty — and flip between tone variants on the result before you insert. Already-generated tones switch instantly.
• New AI Writer presets: Reflection, Video script, Letter, Essay, Speech, Job ad, and Plan starting points for Write anything; Social media and Review modes for Write posts; plus Length and Emoji controls.
• New Mind map and Table: turn any selection into an indented outline or a compact table, straight from the floating toolbar.
• Fixed Replace and Insert below reliably land in the host app after generating a post or write-anything draft — the paste no longer races the panel's focus hand-off.

• New Meetings (Pro): calendar-aware takeover 60 seconds before every meeting with a one-click Join button — never miss a call because a notification slid by.
• New Port Kill groups: save the ports you always fight (front end + API + DB) as a named group, see at a glance which are running, and kill the whole group in one click.

• Fixed License activation is now stored reliably — restarting your Mac no longer asks for the activation code again.
