FavTray Features: All 179 Functions Across 17 Tools (Counted From the Code)
Short answer: FavTray 1.11 has 179 user-facing functions across 17 tools. That’s counted the way the notch-app category counts — one row per thing the app does — and every row comes from the source code. Each links to the page that explains it, and all of it is unlocked for 30 days with no card so you can check.
Audited 10 September 2026 against FavTray 1.11.0. Written by FavTray’s maker; updated with each release.
How we counted
- One row per thing you can do or see. “Mute while screen sharing” is one. “15 snap layouts” is one — layouts aren’t counted individually.
- Providers count once. AI Usage tracks 23 providers; that’s three rows (Claude, Codex, “21 more”), not 23.
- Settings knobs don’t count. An interval slider isn’t a feature; the reminder it controls is.
- Pro is labelled. Unlabelled rows are free on every install or part of a free tool.
By that rule the category’s numbers become comparable — Notchy lists 71, FavTray lands at 179. Why both conventions exist, and why we still lead with “17 tools”: how notch apps count tools.

What the list replaces
Nobody needs 179 functions. Most people need five, from five apps: a break timer, a window manager, a system monitor, a keep-awake, a notch app. The value of one icon isn’t the count — it’s that those five share office hours, stay silent in the same meetings, and report to the same notch. What that stack costs separately is usually more than a year of FavTray.
Newest
- Hydrate — a water tank on the edge of your screen; the notch floods when you hit the goal.
- Move — a shrimp that curls the longer you sit.
- Notch moments — Claude limits as a line and a bar; asks with two buttons; cheers where the island becomes water, sea, candlelight or weather.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many features does FavTray have?
179 functions across 17 tools, counted one row per thing the app can do — the same way notch apps like Notchy count features. By tool it's 17: Eye Rest, AI Usage, Keep Alive, Window Manager, Cloud Costs, System Info, Port Kill, Menu Bar Manager, GitHub Notifications, Reminders, Meetings, AI Writer, Screenshot, FavShelf, Agent Sessions, Hydrate and Move.
How was the 179 counted?
From the source code of FavTray 1.11.0 on 10 September 2026: user-facing actions, notch moments, widgets and shortcuts, one row each. Settings knobs aren't counted as features, and the 23 AI providers count as three rows (Claude, Codex, the other 21), not 23.
Which FavTray features are free?
Eye Rest, Port Kill and Menu Bar Manager are free in full; AI Usage, Window Manager and System Info in core form; Hydrate and Move reminders, the side dock and the Dynamic Island glance (media, weather, AI bars) are free on every install. Rows marked Pro need a paid plan — $4.99/month or $49 once — and everything is unlocked for a 30-day trial with no card.
Is a bigger feature count better?
No — it's a menu, not a meal. The useful question is which three or four things you'd open every day, whether they stay quiet in meetings, and whether the app idles near zero CPU. FavTray measures 0.3–0.5 % idle with all 17 tools on.
